What's going on in the world of Peterhead Lifeboat Station.

September Open Day.

Peterhead Lifeboat Station Annual Open Day this year is on Saturday 17 September 2011 from 12:00-16:00. We are hoping for a large crowd, and have organised a veritable smörgåsbord of events for your viewing, eating and spending pleasure. Attending the open day will be HM Coastguard, the Fire Brigade, the Police Dive Team, , an in-shore D-class lifeboat display and of course, Peterheads own Tamar class Misses Robertson of Kintail will be open to the public for viewing.Tarlair model boat club will also be there using a boating pond.

As if that wasn't enough, a multimedia presentation on the work of Peterhead Lifeboat by the stations Press Officer.

There will also be a plethora of stalls in attendance including RNLI Souvenirs, , a Bottle Stall, a Raffle Stall, RNLI Charity stall, a good old fashioned Kipper Barbecue, and if kippers aren't your thing, the Dolphin Cafe will also be open for refreshments.

All in all it's shaping up to be a great day out, so bring the family, and plenty pennies for all those goodies, and we very much look forward to seeing you there!


RNLI Summer Series Peterhead Fun Run

5th June 2011.

This year's Fun Run will be held on Sunday 5th June 2011, and will be a part of the wider RNLI Fun Run fund raising day with runs taking place all over the country. So here's the challenge - We think that Peterhead Lifeboat Station can raise more money than all the other stations around the country! So come along and prove us right!!

SOS Quiz Night

Friday 14th January 2011.

This year's SOS Quiz night will be on Friday January 28th at the Harbour Lights bar. Much like last year there will be food available, and the bar of course. Entry fee will be £12 for a team of four, and the competition will be fierce! Last years quiz master returns to torment your brain cells once again, so get your team ready and get reading those encyclopedias, and this year it might just be your team that walks off with the prize!






2010 Festive News Roundup.

Saturday 1st January 2011.

It's been a busy festive period at Peterhead Lifeboat Station. We are pleased to announce that our wonderful fundraisers managed to raise a highly impressive £1268 bagpacking at Morrisons on the 30th December. We are extremely grateful to all the end of year shoppers who dipped into their pockets, and to our fundraisers for taking the time out of their busy new years preperations to help raise money for our organisation.

We also managed to complete our RNLI Peterhead Lifeboat Station cookbook, a wonderful book packed full of mouth watering recipe's. The book, retailing at £6 per copy, has proven so successful that we are in the process of printing off more copies. And as if all that wasn't enough, Peterhead Lifeboat was called out on the evening of 25th December, 2010. Yes, a Christmas Day callout. This was the first Christmas Day callout in the history of Peterhead Lifeboat. A fishing boat lost power in the harbour and was drifting uncontrolled, so the lifeboat was called out to secure the fishing vessel. Within 10 minutes of the page the boat was fully manned and untied from the dock ready to go. At that point the lifeboat was stood down as the fishing vessel had drifted close enough to a berthed boat to be secured, and the lifeboat' services were no longer required. It doesnt take away from the fact that the crew was ready and willing to sacrifice their time on Christmas day to put their lives at risk to save others, a commitment shared by each and every member of the RNLI.


Halloween Disco

Wednesday 6th October 2010.

Peterhead Lifeboat Station will be holding a Halloween Disco on Saturday 30th October 2010. The Disco will be at Peterhead Football Club, 8pm until 1am. Tickets will cost £5 per person, and fancy dress is optional. The Disco is for over 18's only.


Bag Packing at Morrisons

Wednesday 6th October 2010.

Peterhead Lifeboat Station fundraisers will again be bagpacking at Morrisons over the festive season. We will be there from 11am to 5pm, Thursday 30th December 2010. Come along for your New Year shop and donate generously to our wonderful fundraisers!

As if that wasn't enough, there will be a presentation on Safety at Sea from the Sea Safety Perth team, a multimedia presentation on the work of Peterhead Lifeboat by the stations Press Officer, and we'll even have Stormy Stan on the scene!

There will also be a plethora of stalls in attendance including Buchan Beaders, Sweetie, Rhiannon Jewellery, RNLI Souvenirs, Waxed Wonders, a Bottle Stall, a Raffle Stall, RNLI Charity stall, a good old fashioned Kipper Barbecue, and if kippers aren't your thing, the Dolphin Cafe will also be open for refreshments.

All in all it's shaping up to be a great day out, so bring the family, and plenty pennies for all those goodies, and we very much look forward to seeing you there!


RNLI Peterhead Walk/Run/Jog day.

Sunday 2nd May 2010.

Peterhead lifeboat station 3/5/10km walk, run or jog event was a big success, with hundreds of runners taking part and £1600 raised! If you'd like to check out your time, click here.


September Open Day.

Peterhead lifeboat station will have an open day on Saturday 4 September 2010 (Although this date is not yet confirmed). It is hoped that we will have Stormy Stan on scene, and many exciting attractions. the event will be from 10:00 till 16:00.


Quiz Night.

Friday 29th January 2010 was our SOS Quiz Night! We ran a QUIZ NIGHT at the Harbour Lights from 1900, admission fee was £10 per team of 4 people. Click here for more info on the night!


Filmmaker of the Year!

Friday 8th January 2010.

We are very proud and pleased to announce that Peterhead Lifeboat Station has won the RNLI Filmmaker of the Year award, 2009.

This coveted award was for our movie of the rescue of the yacht Havbris, which can be seen here.

A few upates to post!

We have the latest callout video up from the recovery of the motor vessel "Pegasus". Check it out over at the launches section.

Members of the lifeboat crew attended the 2009 Remembrance Day March through the streets of Peterhead, so we took some photos. These can be viewed over in the Gallery.

Bill Hall, survivor of the SS Simonburn, sent over a wee dram for the lifeboat crew, so the crew had a drink to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the rescue. Check out the story and pictures by clicking here.


Summer Callouts.

Buttery Morning!

Wednesday 22nd July 2009.

This popular annual event will be held at the Palace Hotel from 10am to 12pm. Teas, coffees, butteries and pancakes will be served. There will also be a table selling homebakes, tombolla and raffle as well as local craft stalls. Entry fee: 0

New Website under construction.

Website receives a much needed overhaul.

It was decided that the Peterhead Lifeboat Station website needed a bit of an overhaul, so over the past few weeks we have been working hard on a new look webspace. This is understandably a work in progress, so not all content is available yet. However, we're working on this continually, so keep checking back to see what's new.
